She has also traveled extensively abroad to several countries as well as taught internationally in such places as Minrack Elementary School and Gyeonggi-do Institute for Foreign Language Education (GIFLE) in South Korea; King Saud University (KSU), University of Dammam (UOD), and Princess Noura University (PNU) in Saudi Arabia.

She is currently living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a teacher for Aldar Academies, which pioneered and opened the first charter school to ever be established in the UAE. Prior to that, she worked for an Apple-Distinguished School under a branch of Abu Dhabi Vocational Education Training Institute (ADVETI).

She is the author of three children books: “Johnny’s Birthday Surprise: Shhh! It’s a Secret!”, "Much Hairdo About Nothing: Father-Daughter Dance", and "Bye-Bye Big Bully." Her fourth book, a novel, is in the final stages of editing.

Marshalette founded WISE Scholars Foundation in 2005 after witnessing firsthand the lack of engagement that students exhibited that ultimately led many to dropout. She wanted to make a difference by finding creative ways to get "at-risk" students back on the course of education so they may have a smooth transition into either college or the workforce.

The founding of WISE Scholars Foundation was a natural step as Marshalette once dropped out of high school, almost not graduating, before returning and reforming herself into a lifelong learner.

Ms. Marshalette R. Wise serves as the CEO, President & Founding Director of WISE Scholars Foundation and its Board of Directors.

She established several sister companies as well that  includes WISE Scholars Publishing, WISE Scholars Mentors, and WISE Scholars Films

Marshalette has plans to open WISE Scholars Academy, a public boarding school that will also serve as a college preparatory for the socio-economically disadvantaged and “at-risk” student populations in both Tuskegee, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia.
